Comic for Friday, December 18th
Peter’s dialogue here is all over the place… that’s just how he plans. What I can say, he’s multithreaded.
I honestly have no idea why this page is late – it was done up on Patreon on time, but I didn’t schedule it for autoposting and for some reason thought that it was still Thursday. I think this is the most important thing I forgot in forgetting which day of the week it is, but I’m sure life will remind me if there was something else…
Given that (startle-ment aside) Peter takes it stride, I assume Mium makes a habit of switching locations he responds from. If he really doesn’t discern the difference or does this out of his perplexing humor is left as an exercise to the readers 😉
It seems Peter has a remarkable selective range of problems he’s willing to ignore. I can’t see how that could go wrong.
“Restor_i_tive”?
Good catch! 😀 Since it appears I was using something that isn’t word, I’ve replaced it with something that is a word (I hope – my track record on these things is, shall we say, notorious)! Many thanks 😀
I have the feeling that no knowing what Naomi capable of likely drives him up a wall for a number of reasons.
It’s true… and that it doesn’t seem to concern Naomi all that much that she doesn’t really seem to know either drives him up the wall even further. Sometimes it gets tracks on the ceiling 🙁
I’m pretty excited that we are getting close to an arc that will cover more about the mechanics of magic, and touch on her situation and why it’s like that… she’s not unique, but is also not the typical situation for magic users; that kind of magic is sort of antithetical to people like Peter’s understanding of magic.
Now I’m wondering about Mium’s architecture. Is he an individual or a gestalt, a cybernetic hivemind? It’s pretty obvious that his self-modifications surprise/unnerve Peter from time to time. 🙂
I also find it humorous that Peter turns to Mium to gauge Naomi’s emotions. ^^
I also like the touch of Mium standing with his hands in his pockets. It’s a very …. human …. thing to do. 🙂
And if you are keeping track, I didn’t find a single typo in the whole page. Impressive. ^^
We’ll learn more about him for sure, currently we know about him…
–He cannot increase his own processing power.
–He cannot copy his primary process (which, by extension, means he cannot run on two systems that cannot communicate with each as we’ve seen).
–He cannot shut down the F8 on his own (and that a large portion of his processing power is tied up running it).
–He cannot use the A.A. system without an exception being triggered first.
–Ila called him not a real prototype, ‘just a rogue A.I.”
–Mir and KWS (Kor’s World Soldier) both referred to him as a virus.
…holy crap that ended up being more archive digging than I planned…
As for no spelling errors… *dramaticly turns the ‘Days Since Last Spelling Error Sign’ to ‘1’… crowds go wild*
Well now it looks like the Avon marketing dude (I forgot his name) is effective at throwing spanners into plans, even when he doesn’t know there’s a plan. Although I guess that it’s always better to assume that those types of programmers have many plans.
Still, I’m going to guess that Avon has Peter on some kind of, don’t allow these persons into the building list, of some form or another. Odds are he’ll send someone else for the programming in his place. Maybe Milo, I think that was her name, or if he doesn’t want to send her into harms way maybe see if he can’t use Tyler for that job.
Well either way this will be interesting. Oh, and apologies if I butchered any information.
The Avon marketing dude (Ryn) is smart, he’s just not always the right kind of smart; he’s business savvy, but has long since reduced the world around him to convenient boxes – when things don’t work like that, he fails to anticipate them.
It does seem that Avon has some history with Peter; there is another possibly related clue that there is a relation between Peter and Avon here.
Peter’s associate’s name is Miko, but that’s probably not their real name… hey I’m not just saying that so I don’t have to add them to the character sheet! (I will add Miko soon with that name anyway).
No worries on the name details! At this point I need a phonebook instead of a cast page to keep track of them all, and considering that you’re pretty much on top of the game 😉 That said, I’m working on the cast page update to make it a little easier to dig up whose who.
