Comic for Friday, July 31st
I suspect this will be a polarizing one in that some people will complain about it and some people will like it. I went through a lot of interations of this sequence, tbh, and I’m not sure this is the best version, but I can confirm it is better than some of the other ones.
The format is probably not heralding anything new. I’ve done these long pages before, though never quite gone to quite this extreme on the panel stew approach. I will probably do long panels with more broken out scenes more often, but haven’t really decided too much for sure.Β I’ve been drawing the other comic ideas I’m punting around in my head for a secondary comic in vertical strips (as it’d be longer once a week updates, whatever it ends up being if anything), so that’s probably a bad influence.
Plus, the chat conversation wouldn’t really have counted as a page it’s own, so it seemed like a good way to compromise.
As for the content – well, I’m glad that Miko makes their appearance (if it can be called that). Miko is not their real name.
There are few grammar bads in Miko’s typed dialogue. That is intentional.
What AA stands for? was that mentioned before?
What the AA System stands for hasn’t been clarified yet, as that’d be a bit a spoiler π
I know, so many acronyms! π Sometimes it’s because typing out the names would take too much time, sometimes its so I can obfuscate, sometimes it’s becomes the names of things are really dumb π
That’s what happens when you house a purple gorilla in a china shop – it picks a fight with the resident bull.
π
I was going to try to layer another metaphor on, but they all turned into spoilers or nonsense. π
Hmmm, so Peter is not alone in the scheming. A denizen of yet another dimension, perhaps? π
A PC-like tower? Now I’m wondering if Mium’s scarf contains a booster antenna instead of just being an eccentricity.
Hah, “purple gorilla” ? Whatever else Milo is it’s certainly snarky–I like that. ^^
Haha – that’s a pretty awesome theory with the scarf π
Peter does indeed not scheme alone. Naomi is more important to his plans than it may superficially seem, but she is not very useful on scheming front π
Like Naomi, a shotgun is lacking in subtlety, but it is very effective.
She doesn’t need to be a schemer if Peter has Miko. That way she can apply herself to the things she likes best. Like smiting. ^^
It’s all about specialization of labor! π
Peter had to re-specialize not that long ago – he used to share Miko’s role. I think we are still seeing his struggles to develop the required social skills for his new role.
He has the concepts of manipulation – errr, conversation – down pat, but in live fire doesn’t always have the execution.
Perhaps we’ll see growth on that front as he learns to actually deal with people as people. But that’s asking a lot…
Naomi on the hand is a professional smiter. She has the smiting role down pat, she just needs evil to smite.
Hmmm. Peter was part of the “Monster Hunter” team with Kally, but no one has been complaining about any other defections–did “Miko” remain as a mole, or was he/she/it never part if I.D.S.?
Peter has been wargaming his moves, brilliant strategist with poor social skills–textbook geek, or researcher/detective…. He’s a high-level programmer…
Hmmmm.
Back to Naomi, I’m starting to worry about just how elastic her definition of “evil” is…. ^^
Did Mium just explode? Or did he explode something??
We’ll see what happened to Mium and Ila soon! We probably won’t see the exact details of what happened for a bit longer though π
