Comic for Monday, July 27th
If you are suspicious that we’veΒ seen that logo before, it certainly look similar to the one that was on Peter’s computer here, though it’s in color this time.
Sometimes success is the most dangerous outcome.
For those confused about the second to last line, my writing convention has been that, for example “ids” would be like the pural form of “id”, but “I.D.S” would be “eye dee ess”, ie, the letters. Why the computer would call her M.I.R. instead Mir… well, it probably has a strange sense of humor.
Lot of things I didn’t know how to draw well in this page, not happy with how most of they came out and the end result was a lot less polished than I’d like as a result, but I suppose I’ve learned some things from it. Β This is the now the second time characters have had real shadows… Still, hopefully we can expect better stuff soon (I always say this, don’t I? :D)
I wonder what Mium’s view on Ila is now that Naomi told him she was his sister?? Are we going to see an angry Mium?
I’m pretty sure that is Mium on the computer from the way he talks. Mir seems to know him too.
Good questions! … We’ll see π
Mium doesn’t like Ila because her primary processes are designed with a closed architecture. Mium called her thinking a “black box”. He’s only dealing with Ila because Naomi wants him to, and for some reason he defers to her.
(Peter defers to Naomi as well, but that may be partly because she could mop the floor with him if she wished to.) ^^
Peter did tell Mium to listen to Naomi in this case – why Peter defers to Naomi when she decides to be stubborn is indeed a question we’ll probably see more of. π And, for that matter, why Mium listens to Peter though I’m guessing some people have their guesses on that one π
I think it’s safe to agree that Mium doesn’t hold Ila’s AI in high regard, but there is another factor in play (and it may have something to do with certain trend we’ve seen with Peter being a little careless with his directions for Mium…) π
Mium also lets Naomi win at videogames, and I don’t think he got that from Peter’s directions. I could be wrong about that, but Mium does have that quirky sense of humor……
Second panel: Is that leg broken? ‘Cause I don’t think they’re supposed to bend that way.
The leg is indeed no longer in “like new” condition π
Considering the height at which she fell and the angle of the impact, i doubt that the leg or her head are in mint condition anymore.
She is pretty tough, but an uncontrolled landing from that height is quite rough π
True, but don’t read too much into that. There’s no particular reason for an android’s “brain” to be in it’s head. π
I’m just stating that her skull might need fixing too. i see the red coming out of her mouth and pooling beneath her head so something is seriously broken.
We haven’t been told what the prototypes are made of, and whether any of it is organic.
On the one hand, when Mium rests his cheek on his fist, the skin and underlying structure deform in a lifelike way, but on the other, when Jayce Myer accosted Mium as he perched on a Leavenworth Academy rooftop, Mium jumped off and walked away from the holes he left in the concrete below.
I’m having a great time speculating on it all. ^^
Answered my own question about why comment chain couldn’t go deeper – was a setting on my side – ignore me.
From panel 2, we know Ila can bleed π (though the effect may be a little subtle – it’s a small frame). We’ll see more fuel for speculation soon though! … answers? No, I don’t do answers… π
Ila is leaking something red. But since you say it’s blood, I’ll accept that.
This situation is tailor-made for a long series of small reveals. ^^
Haha – I suppose that’s true π
Than again, if I made prototypes leak red fluid when damaged then insisted it WASN’T blood, people would probably roll their eyes at me π
