Comic for Friday, October 30th
If I was a pro of Friday comics I’d have managed to end this page on panel three. I have a long way to go… 😉
There are several reasons that Peter doesn’t want to involve someone from Criminal Investigations in the escalating tussle here; primarily because there is someone that he really doesn’t want to get involved – for likely more than one reason. But will they see it his way?
It seems cheating to have a spell that tracks your target. That’s just not fair imo. It does have some limitations though.
Backgrounds were a little hit or miss on this page, but to fair it had eight panels… We are still working on those happy mediums and all. I realize that I totally forgot to upload a new vote incentive, so I’m in vote incentive debt. Will upload one shortly (probably tomorrow morning) AND one over the weekend 😉
As for why someone from Arron’s department is part of Otte’s group; technically as she’s an enforcement agent she answers to IDS headquarters, and is thus subject to direct drafting for policing matters; if Arron even knows she’s here or not, well… I imagine that’ll come up at some point 😉
Edit:
New incentive up! I think this completes one Halloween suggestion for each member of the main cast. If I didn’t do one of your suggestions, I’m sorry! I tried to prioritize it such: At least one from each person that suggested -> At least one for each character. If you missed on, they are all on Patreon (I think they are free tier for all to see).
As always, feel free to shoot me a suggestion for a vote incentive (field is once again open) or sketchbook bonus art, or recommend another comic for fanart; chances are pretty good that I’ll draw it currently 😉
At this point I’m wondering what would be worse; Coming back empty-handed or coming back unconscious with a droprover that was set on autopilot by the very person they were sent to capture?
Although I can’t help but picture the ‘I told you so’ scene of when Agent Otte returns to base. It has no words, just Arron standing there clapping that slow sarcastic kind of clapping.
I know it would be out of character for him, but I just can’t help but laugh at it.
Haha; that’s a pretty great mental picture 😀
I have the feeling Arron will be somewhat vexed at this point; while I think he was certainly expecting Otte to fail, the business with Tyler is where Arron’s plan of using Otte has fodder to see what Peter had in store went south, and I can’t help but think he’s still marching in a direction Arron will regret.
At this point I think it’s a win if he makes it back with the droprover… I bet those things cost a lot. They probably won’t give him the keys again if he loses one 😛
I see some invoking of plausible deniability in the future… Also all that sneak attack seemed to do was annoy Naomi and ruin her clothes.
There definitely needs to be a new line of magic & explosion resistant clothes – where do superheroes do their shopping? Mium, Jayce, REF and Naomi all would’ve paid them a visit by now; though REF’s need was more drastic…
Wonder if the school provides extra uniforms. Probably they charge outrageous ripoff rates for them; maybe she can just find a new green shirt since the rest of it’s intact.
A quick follow on note thank you for having the ability to edit your post if you notice something screwball which I did about 2 minutes remaining. I went in to edit but while I was typing up my changes the two minutes expired and my changes were rejected. As a suggestion, once you pressed ‘edit’ the timer should probably stop proceeding.
That’s a little tricky. I will see if I can edit that in, I’m worried it’ll make some complications though. I think as a compromise I can just increase the timer a bit to get a similar effect (since 5 minutes was just sort an arbitrary number to start with).
I’ve been Pondering Peter’s power. Picking pickled peppers probably isn’t it. Possibly Precog, of a limited scope area that he uses when fighting although one of the most notable things about Peter is that we’ve never seen him fight. Potential protection from penetrating projectiles perhaps. It makes me wonder if Peter’s power beyond his A++ planning is a phantasmagorical power potential powered pillage. or I’m just running out of P-words.
Perhaps potent pondering, power paranoia, periodic perception, and plain pragmatism.
… nope, that’s as far as I can go on that 😉 Solid work to get through a whole paragraph 😛
Peter is more magician than mage, but we’ll see some of the tricks up his sleeve in time; just when you think he’s entirely mundane, he’s not above cheating 😉
So it was flicker and die. That was the one I thought least likely. 🙂
I feel sorry for Emmi. Her orders are to take him in, her superior has been injured (love the foot sticking out of the rubble), and she must feel that she’s under attack herself. On the other hand, she WAS warned…
I hope Peter steps up his game and convinces her not to attack again. Naomi just HATES being interrupted in mid-smite. ^^
Haha – I think it’s because I showed a close up of it’s inelegant destruction you assumed there had to be a purpose beyond 😛
As for Peter… well; it’s going to get more complicated before it gets less complicated for the poor man.
What’s Naomi’s necktie made out of!?
I dunno, but we should get some of it when we replace Mium scarf. It being damaged was on the greater tragedies in the comic so far 🙁
