Intermission 3, Minus Years 2, Page 2
There is an obvious typo. So obvious that I found it. Unfortunately, I do not currently have the ability to fix it. I will fix it on the 30th, when I’m back home. Yes, that haunts even me to a degree…
So far I’ve not got much done while on vacation, but my vacation only properly started today, so we’ll see. I’m having a bit of trouble with my travelling tablet, which is the sort of thing that inevitably happens, but has inevitably happened.
This comic occurs pretty close on the heels of Minus Years 1, so… yeah, Peter and Kally having a conversation still generally can be represented by a train crashing into a pile of awkward, with light dusting of wtf on top.
Query is not very good at opening doors, but due to the wonders of modern security, quite good at unlocking them usually. If anyone ever tells you that maybe your deadbolt would be more convenient if it was connected to your phone, perhaps have some skepticism.
I’ve decided to Pause my Patreon for this month, as I’m not really able to deliver them new content (as they’ve already seen the Minus Years comic). I will resume the Patreon in December when I can resume making new content (where I’ll put up the next pages as this segment of Minus Years finishes running here). As always, I really appreciate everyone who has does or has supported there – I really do want to aim to make it a better value proposition (beyond just my appreciation for the support), but such things are complicated 🙂
I find it a bit hilarious that nobody replying here has found the “True Solution” to this unwinnable scenario: Knock on the door.
It makes me wonder if us readers identify with Peter’s viewpoint to a somewhat surprising/alarming degree. :p
She was asleep, knocking loud enough to wake her up likely would ALSO have resulted in grumpy Kally. Better solution: Wait till morning. Unless deployment is earlier.
You are likely correct. Knock loudly: grumpy. Wake up gently from next to her bed: grumpy. Delay going after the bad guys for daylight: grumpy.
A true no-win scenario.
Keeping Your Lady Not Mad at You and Other Kobayashi Maru.
Heh, apt reference. ^^
One of my new goals in life is to write a book with that name.
yes peter ALL paths lead to annoyed women.
i know it was said before but for peter real life is a video game that forgot the pause button.
tho it does remind me… how many ppl play rpgs and go wandering into every single house to try and find some chest to steal or a side quest, or whatever.
How do we know that Peter’s real life-video game doesn’t have a pause?
Just like the existence of a teleporting person makes sense when you looked at the data, it would explain a lot if Peter does, indeed have a pause.
Peter’s strangest habit may be his habit of just starting to have a conversation with Query in the middle of talking to someone else, while they are still there.
To me, that really represents that he probably has some sort of social disorder. That’s not just awkward behavior, he seems to barely have object permanence when it comes to people, they only exist while he’s talking to them.
It’s these Minus Years comics which really show how Peter doesn’t naturally get people, and certain concepts. Similar to several real world disorders, he overcame this handicap. However, it’s an intellectual thing, not instinctive like for normal humans. The idea of just using a doorbell never even crossed his mind.
Compare that to the first few pages of Chapter 1. There we see a shadowy figure giving information for his own amusement. If those were the only pages to compare, many people would assume it really was two different characters.
Thanks for pointing those out. Somehow I missed them. I was thinking Past was talking about “flaw in formula”. While that’s admittedly not grammatically correct, it feels like it’s a grammatically incorrect that would be in character for someone like Peter. I’ve previously seen things like this corrected, and it made me sad, because it felt like Peter was being made to conform to… something he might not even recognize was a thing. Admittedly, he’d likely not notice the conformity, either, considering.
yep it needs a THE. So three people… who have different obvious flaws.
I could see skipping the ‘the’. Its a fine line. On one side you have a preposition before a noun, on the other it could be a character short hand when talking to Query. Most of us would state it as a formulaic flaw referring to the behavioral pattern formula, but could be argued that it is a Peter specific thing going back a few comics he doesn’t seem to use very many prepositions anyways, people don’t always speak with good grammar
Fixed, thanks 🙂
Also second panel: Kepler missing an ‘L’. I wonder if this is the glaring one that was already noticed?
Fixed, thanks 🙂
Third panel: Missing an ‘O’ in ‘know’.
Fixed, thanks 🙂
