Comic for Friday, April 3rd
Update: Hi all – unfortunately the artist (me) dislocated his drawing arm in a running injury (a vaguely complicated and painful story). I’m not yet sure how this will effect updates; I hope for no hiatus but that may be optimistic. Will keep you posted but if there is a missed update, the comic is definitely not dead! If it takes longer than I hope to return to drawing I will probably temporarily hire an artist to take over, but am currently hopeful there won’t be any problems.
When I started doing these commentaries, I noted that I would try not to spend every commentary commenting on how bad the art was, so I will refrain from commenting on the art.

Err… I mean… anyway! Our red eyed friend’s circumstances here are a bit of a logical conclusion from the last panels previously, and the suggested rating of this comic staying at PG-13. I was a little unsure how to render the speech bubbles in panels 2 and 3. I don’t think I’d do it quite that way again, but I wanted to show their situation along side their names as I don’t think it would be clear necessarily who he was talking about otherwise.
And the reference to ‘that business in Ederbad’ may or may not be expounded upon in the future; all that really needs to be said is they’ve met before, and have some conflicting interests; probably in their fashion sense – each thinks the other is entirely lacking one. I have to say while rumpled and bloodstained isn’t usually in, Myer might be winning at the moment… though I’m sure there is a certain faction in favor of our Red-Eye’d Friend’s current attire :/

Ouch! Sorry to hear about the injury (Although the concepts of “arm” and “running” in the same sentence does conjure up some interesting mental pictures. ^^)

Thanks; The update will be today (monday), though by end of day rather than by start of day. The art will maybe be a little rough, as my arm is only semi functional but I’m doing what I can.
I think the key point I didn’t include to accurately how you injury arms while running is by adding the word “falling” (or “high speed axis rotation”); though in my case the fall would only have been some nasty scrapes if it wasn’t for the fact that my arm is defective (I’m hoping for cyborg ones soon). 🙂
I appreciate the patience, but beyond a little straining its not in much danger of being severely worsened by drawing; it’s just hard/slow to do. Plus non-updating comics don’t make much money 😀
Well, that just drives a stake in the heart of the whole “Running like a wolf” idea. :'(

I had no problem with those speech bubbles. The images nswered the unspoken question, “Are you okay/”
You could always treat “Ederbad” like the old Calvin and Hobbes “Noodle Incident”. 🙂
Um, can the red-eyed mage “Cloud people’s minds”, like The Shadow? If he can, no clothes–no problem. 😀
Hah, it was the original intention to simple leave it unstated (and I may still). I certainly won’t flashback or explain it now as the arc is meandered on so far it’s in the next pasture over.
Altering other people’s minds would be pretty hard; it’ll be explained a bit later, but its very hard to directly change another human (ie: turn them into a frog or alter their memories) in this setting. Without going essay format, I should probably leave it at that. I tend to get carried away on these details.
That said… creating clothes wouldn’t likely be that hard, but still pretty hard for a few reasons, and he probably doesn’t keep a spell like that on hand.
