Comic for Wednesday, February 3rd
I’ve noted that Miko isn’t a real name before. Now maybe we know where it comes from… š
Friday’s comic is still Schrodinger’s comic. If it’s up it’ll be up late. I’m still hoping to do it. But looking at my schedule isn’t super hopeful. I’m taking a rather vexing software certification test on Saturday. On the bright side after I pass that there will be more free time for things like comic making. Definitely been in a bit of a time crunch for three a week, but eh. I think we’ll pull through in the long run. If nothing else we’ll stop drawing backgrounds. What’s that you say? I already did that? Shush you!
As always, appreciate all those tagging along, reading, commenting, sending thoughtful (or perplexing…) questions!
And for those of you that have been puzzled by the lack of any character you recognize for a few pages… don’t worry, we’ll be back to the others sooner or later š
This is why secured machines have physically disabled usb. Often by squirting superglue in the sockets.
it’s Monday, but where’s the update?
It just went up! It’s still pretty early here and we are not quite back to the luxury of auto-scheduled updates š
We’ll get there eventually again… š
take 2 weeks off from posting. during week 1 write out script and do sketches of the next 2 months worth of comics. during week 2 work on filling out the next 2 weeks worth of comics. we will wait while you get a buffer set up. you should make chapters and set up a break at the end of each one so you can plan ahead. i’m not a writer but i am a master at planning things even if i’m one of the laziest people on the planet.
The general plot is fairly outlined, and a few pages are scripted ahead of time. I actually try to keep a lid on that as the writing is way easier/faster. If I write too far ahead it becomes harder to get the motivation to draw it š
I’ve had a buffer a few times, but I’m typically pretty bad at holding onto them. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with your plan – you are certainly right. If someone asked me what they should do, I’d tell them to do what you’re telling me to do! š But… š
I look at this way – there are only a set amount of discipline points I have for my day; currently they are mostly being spent on work and health. I’ll do my best to keep the comic updating as much as I can, but it’s probably not going to be as rigorous as it was until I get at least the new job stuffed back its 40-hour box š
Not going to be an update Friday, will focus on getting again next weeks comics. If I update on Saturday we’ll just get less comics next week at this rate. Apologize, and I’ll try to find ways to keep more content coming in the future weeks.
Ah, I see. š
So, being that it’s AVon and all, M.Y.M. has probably installed himself on any system they have that isn’t well enough protected (read: all of them), and Miko might have used an applet to wake him up. ^^
At any rate, AVon went fishing for guppies, and caught a hammerhead shark. ^^
Saria (Ms. CWB) is in way over her head, here–too bad she’ll be too embarrassed to tell Ryn that and he’s too self-absorbed to notice. ^^
Let’s see if Gate notices. š
You know, it’s been a time honored problem of mercenaries ever since forever. If you hire them to defend your city, occasionally they just take your city.
I have a suspicion Miko knows more about Avon than Ms. CWB. Or at least the section of Avon they are now dealing with…
Yep. Definitely a government agency. Hire the best independent hackers in the world; expect them to ask permission for system access.
I’m not sure they thought that one through… š
Appreciate the comment!
I… Miko just jumped past Peter in tech skills didn’t she? Or at least demonstrated level of skills.
And seriously, Red haired dude who runs Marketing was right, they really don’t have the skills to monitor people like Miko. Or keep them from slaving out the system.
Well, we haven’t really seen Peter do all that much. We’ll see if there is any fire behind the smoke someday. Maybe. Maybe it’s mirrors and more smoke.
I honestly am not sure Ryn appreciated how desperate an idea his idea was. Finding hackers that are better then yours and loosing them into your system may seem like an obviously bad idea from our prospective, but I’m not sure how solid a grasp he has on some of the finer points of employee management.
I’m pretty sure Ryn understands how much of a desperation move it is. I think the problem is he failed to properly convey that information to his subordinate, who is probably thinking these people are just SLIGHTLY better at coding than AVON designated employes.
