Comic for Thursday, April 13th
This is something I wasn’t sure if I was going to do. I feel that the narrative has already been a little scattered in an effort to stay moving along (we’ve had different people everyone couple pages for awhile now!) but on the other hand I didn’t want to skip the interludes here. Ultimately I decided that ya’ll stuck with me so far, may as well stick to what I it is I do and try to tell the full story 😛
So… don’t think it’s going to take many guesses to figure out who she is, though I suppose her name hasn’t been shown yet anywhere that I can remember now that I think about it.
Anyway, still Thursday by my reckoning. Will try to have another page of minus years and some more bonus art this weekend on patreon or something. Maybe I’ll even get Monday’s page done earlier. Hey. Stranger things have happened.

“My little flower” and Lily. Hmmmmm, no way that could possibly be related.
Wow, Peter’s sister seems pretty normal. Considering Peter is, well, Peter, what’re the odds of that? Hah!
Anyway….well, this is a completely different direction. I’m sure it’ll prove to be interesting in some manner. (Well, besides the obvious amusement of watching Kyle mail “Vicksberg” there a letter saying “Hey, just to let you know, I know people in I.D.S., and your only way in right now is as janitorial staff.” (Or something like that, or not getting in at all.) I realize that’ll probably never happen, but that would be funny. (Or if he happened to be there and just tell him in person. Heheh…))
It does seem hard to believe.
Annoy not a Civil Servant, for they have many ways to mess with you, and can hold a grudge for a VERY long time. ^^
Additionally, I get the feeling that “The Civil Service” here between how they talk, that they have a uniform, and the general implied lines regarding them are not exactly your run of the mill bureaucrats either. The Civil Service seems to be a branch of government on par with the Interdimensional Security and Central Military.
I think that the Civil Service is probably in charge of everything that is not Military or IDS, which means, well, this guy. Basically, he is screwed.
In the first panel he’s ‘Vicksberg’, but in the last he’s ‘Vickberg’. I have a sneaking suspicion that one of them is wrong. ;-}}

I do not, I think this is the first time we have seen anyone in Central besides Kyle, Arron and Min.
…and I suspect this is the last time we will see him, unless we see a dirt plantation…
Also, I wonder if she is older or younger than Peter. Peter is still young enough to pass believably in Levenworth Academy (probably equivalent to a college or sorts), and she is teaching, though she could be teaching younger students, this guy does not look that young (though it can be hard to tell).
remember apperent age and true age are not necessarily the same. between magic, genetic engineering, and advanced healthcare they could be much older while still looking late teens-early 20’s.
closest parallel i can think of is in the honor harrington series. in the 3rd book “honor of the queen” when the greyson admrial goes onboard the nike and sees a bunch of teens running the ship. note that the admrial is in his 60’s and the 3rd generation prolong “children” running around are between 30 and 60 themselves. the prolong medicine is a geneticly engineered virus that “attacks” the cells and somehow slows down both the physical growth, and signs of aging.

Actually… Some of us have been paying really close attention and so we -did- know that Peter has a sister. This was mentioned. Briefly. Many, many pages ago. I believe this was the last time Kyle Kepler appeared (or the time before that) where Kyle Kepler asked Aaron about Peter.
However, I -am- surprised to see Peter’s sister here. I had suspected that she was currently in Malsa, near Peter. My question now is if Peter only has one sister, or if there is more than one.
I think you have a slight mix up. I had to check back to the page where Kyle appeared (Link) but he said that Peters cousin (Taki) had disappeared months ago (and was suspected to be Miko (and in Malsa) in the comments ). If this was Taki then I think Kyle would be having a bit stronger of a reaction on this page. My guess on who this is, is Lilly, though that is only a shot in the dark.
On a different note, I am quite interested in that poster behind Peters sister in panel 5. I can’t make out everything it says, but there seem to be quite a few hints on this page about the migration from the IDS world(“Central”) to Palindra. While it has only been hinted at before, the IDS wanting to move from their world to Palindra would tie together a few things.
Also, Vicksberg on this page seems to be acting a little Peter like (though meaner). I wonder: Peter (and Kally) was somewhat well known was he not? Are some people taking him as an inspiration and acting as a skilled, aloof jerk because he did? (even if they don’t have the skill to pull it off) Or is this just a coincidence, was Peters fame only in certain more select circles.
I think xpacetrue was referring to Lily above as well. Taki was mentioned again by Arron when he asked if Naomi had seen her, but Lily hasn’t been brought up since the last conversation with Kyle.
It has been my guess that Miko is Taki as well, since Taki was noted to be antisocial and reclusive. This girl does not really fit that profile, but could definitely be Lily.
As for the poster, the only part I can read for sure is a “a world like the world that was”. This seems to be another clue that “central” is in bad shape, either from nuclear war (against Kor’s World) or against something Kor’s World did (those are my guesses anyway). It could be something a lot more fantasy like dimensional barrier problems or maybe something that is the reason Kor’s World invaded in the first place.
There have been some hints that there is bad stuff out there besides Kor’s World, namely “Monster Hunters” moniker for the Situation Containment team.
@Jtartus: According to the same page you just referenced, Lily may well be Kyle’s wife, (if he has a wife) instead–we don’t know enough at this point to say for sure one way or the other.
Unfortunately, now we won’t find out until @PastUtopia is good and ready to tell us. Our speculating has alerted him and he’s very unlikely to let something slip. ^^

Close but it wasn’t stated that Lily was Peter’s sister – only her name was mentioned. I, for one, thought Lily was Kyle’s wife. Panel two would seem to corroborate that as the little snark calls her “teacher” implying an age difference. However, in panel five she call Aaron “Uncle” which explicitly defines the relationship.
