Comic for Monday, March 7th
Update!
As previously noted, there will be only two updates this week; this one and Thursday. Unfortunately, for the near future, I think I will continue to update on Monday/Thursday until a time that I can rebuild a buffer. If the buffer gets to be more then a few comics, I’ll resume 3-updates a week. Unfortunately we need to get away from the pen-to-presses approach we are in right now. Considerations for hiring an artist are still in the long term form – that would be a fairly large move, which I’ll talk about more if it seems likely.
Arron seems to think he may have connected a puzzle piece – or, I suppose it’s accurate to say, realized that one of the puzzle pieces he was working with was wrong. It’s sometimes the greatest leap when you realize that a fact you had was wrong… it opens whole new worlds of possible connections. Of course… such leaps aren’t always correct – the simplest explanation may be the best, but it still isn’t always right… 😉
He’s got to be somewhat convinced he’s onto something if he’s willing to inevitable have to go through security again though.
I think I just heard a penny drop.
I especially like the thoughtful expressions morphing into stunned realization. That was well done (and kinda funny). 🙂
That’s funny, I thought I heard a shoe drop… 😉
I think Arron’s expressions tend to be the best. His face has more moving parts then most of the other characters.
Also, I think Arron just figured out that Peter has a way of transporting people and objects between dimensions that bypasses IDS Security. That, alone, would be enough to make him very concerned. Policing dimensional travel is what IDS is about, right? And this makes it sound like Peter not only deserted IDS, but is involved in illegal dimensional activities. But, perhaps Arron is unaware of how much black market trading and illegal activity goes on every day? Perhaps he’s kept in the dark?
Arron has to know at least something about the smuggling due to a way back conversation where another IDS director was blaming him for Tyler’s sudden success in shutting some of it.
As for Peter, we know at very least that had an inter-dimensional gate detector running since the start of the comic, and was actively monitoring for something.
Is he going back to Malsa to confirm/disprove his theory indirectly, or by trying to talk with Peter? This should be interesting, especially since Arron is Peter’s uncle. The cast page says he was quite proud of Peter’s “rise through the ranks.” So I would imagine that he’s still holding hope that Peter will come back to IDS some day – with a darned good explanation (like being on an ultra-secret undercover mission).
We’ll see! Probably both.
I think he’s certainly been trying to figure out what Peter is doing before escalating the issue – how this has contributed I suppose remains to be seen.
He certainly pieced something together. Probably not the whole of everything Peter is planning (Only Peter himself has enough infos for that, and its dynamically changing) but at least something.
We’ll see if this epiphany gives him any insight into Peter’s plan, but it does seem that he’s had connected a dot or too. Or at least thinks he has.
Ultimately seeing Query here means there is some questions that he needs to find the answer to though…
