Comic for Monday, March 19th, 2018
So… this is back on time, but I think it’s fair to say after the schedule issues of the past week, the majority of people would prefer that the updates a buffered and scheduled, even if it means missing update or two. I don’t know, I didn’t run a poll on it, but that’s the feeling I get from the comments. So, I think today and Thursday will be normal, and if I can’t make up a buffer update someday during that, I will take either one or two updates off the next week to install a shiny new buffer, and will work to maintain that. Historically speaking, this has not proved to be successful, but just because I can’t do something historically doesn’t mean I should give up on… just ask the art department of the comic. Things still get drawn.
I’ve also come up with a bold new solution to my grammatical inability to use words. That is to say, don’t. While obviously a joke, this page is also not really one I put up lightly, and I will promise that at least nothing on it is copy-pasted 😉 . If I’m going to make you sit through a page of Arron staring at a door, I’m at least going to draw a whole damn page of Arron starring at a door. It’s only fair. 😛
PS. I am aware that Arron switches the hand he’s hold the device in. That is intentional! There’s a reason for that, but I understand that it’s not really clear that he pulls it out with his right hand before switching it to his left hand to leave his right hand free again.
We’ve got new Patreons! Many thanks! I’m always beyond pleased to see new faces there, and amazed and grateful that people support this little venture; I don’t have anything intelligent to say, beyond rehashing the same trite line that I would like to put more content up on Patreon. I do manage to get a few sketches, silly things, and other sorts up there each month, and if you’re at a request tier for the month of March, be sure to get your request in soon! A sincere thanks to all that Patreons, new and old.
I think Aaron’s phone says “Syncing to User Settings”. Does this mean anything? Does this have anything to do with Ellipsis? Text usually means something in this comic, but this time, I am not so sure.
I think he may be syncing to the door controls. So he can open the door.
Auto caster, not a phone. Arron was considering trying to open the door instead of knocking.
If so, it suggests that it has been a long time since he’s seen his niece. Otherwise he’d already know that trying to bypass her security was a sub optimal plan. Or maybe he really is that good, dunno.
Preferably take all of next week to build buffer, I understand that extended breaks are bad business and most people have short attention spans but I really would rather you were comfortable and at ease with a good buffer, not least because that gives you more room to get the art to where you are happy with it.
On a similar note, please do not stress over providing content on patreon, as pleasant as it is to receive an email regarding new patreon goodies, it is pleasant precisely because it is but a bonus. I am aware that many people refuse to give money unless they receive exclusive content but personally I see patreon as a means to directly support the work I love.
You know I think I saw this coming. Or did Arron stupidly chose not to use Ellipses?
I think he is using them. I think Mium is just immune.
If I didn’t hate absolutely hate living in multi-floor multi-resident buildings, or is I jokingly call them togetherments, I would want room 404. I would take the 404 off the wall and replace it with 405 because even if there was another 405 it would still be true.
Oh, good, an interpreter has appeared. He speaks fluent Miko. ^^
Oh boy! Mium and Arron having a conversation!
Crap I need to go get some popcorn….
Yup! I’m guessing that this rather quiet comic is about to be followed by some dialog. Hard to know though, Mium and Arron both tend to be laconic.
I think this world very well. It conveys just how I suspect Arron must feel when trying to figure out how to approach his niece.
I am glad that Mium told us what the sign said, because it was cut off in any panel where you could read it.
And, i was wrong. The other sign does read 404. Not found.
