Comic for Thursday, March 15th, 2018
…okay, so, admittedly, this one is a little late even by my standards.
Monday’s comic should* be on time.
*Currently it is not drawn, but I have a big slice of tomorrow where I either don’t have things to do, or have things I will procrastinate doing by working on the comic, so…, that’s like as good as being finished already, right? 😉
I do know that it would be better to have a regular schedule even if it misses some updates, and, frankly, I might take a day or week off at some point coming up. We did actually used to have a buffer, and the land was filled with sunshine and roses, so we should go back to that. It is a lot more efficient if I can draw like 2-3 pages at a time.
404? Apartment not found?
Wow! Nice catch!
That opens up some more questions though, doesn’t it? I’m rather certain that Peter refused to give up Miko to Arron. That means that Arron has found time to track down Miko in this midst of all this. Or else part of the fall out is that Miko has become more exposed, at least to Arron.
Eh, that was supposed to be in reply to be in reply to Ferrus’s comment at 4:49. Not sure what happened there.
I think Nathan just realized Ellipses probably won’t work on Mium. And maybe not on Illa either.
It is interesting because Ellipses has been implied to work on mechanical security somehow. If it was just making it hard for people to notice, than Tom would have trouble getting some of the places we have seen him get (like into the Situation Containment offices).
Unless Ellipses is just part of how they get around, and they also use more traditional methods of forged credentials and the like. Now that I think about it, it is probably just that.
I’m not thinking Mium is excluded do to being a robot. I think its more do to his mass disruption field.
Thinking just about evidence up to this point, I would suspect that Mium being able to ignore Ellipses would be more about why he’s able to disrupt mana so efficiently.
“Though… speaking of that girl, there’s probably another person it wouldn’t work well on around…”
The end of this sentence sounds very wrong. You’re trying to use “on around” and I don’t believe those two words should be used together like that. Perhaps you should either drop off the “around” or replace “on around” with “against”? That, or maybe change the sentence to “…there’s probably another person who could see through it.”
P.S.: Instead of trying to push out a Monday comic, perhaps you should skip that deadline and, instead, try to build up at least a 1 page buffer? It’s rather close to Monday, now, anyway.
Another person around that it wouldn’t…?
Re: buffer, I’m thinking Dead Piro Days?
Try “another person around that would not work well on”
Also in panel four it should be “saying something is above your clearance is saying that THERE IS something above your clearance to say”
I think both of these sentences are proper spoken English, they just sound fairly awkward. I actually like the way the one in panel four is written, as it makes the statement somewhat clever.
Except Nathan is implying that that person whom Ellipses wouldn’t work on is in the area (thus the ‘around’ part). I don’t know if Nathan’s sentence should have a comma (wouldn’t work well on, around…”) or what.
(I’m being coy about who Nathan thinks Ellipses wouldn’t work on because at first, I thought it was someone else who Arron would want to see (and as the last panel implies, Arron is about to visit, despite the ‘404’ (as BuilderofCastles points out is well within said person’s sense of humor to use as a mundane attempt at Ellipses), but then I realized that Nathan hasn’t been seen with said person (although we haven’t seen Nathan talking to Peter either…), while Nathan has been seen in the presence of someone who could likely ignore Ellipses.
That said, the person I think Arron’s gonna visit seems to have a cyber-link with the person Nathan met, so Ellipse probably wouldn’t work on her either…
PS: I agree with your suggestion that PastUtopia should take time out from updating to get his buffer built back up. Maybe take a week off…
Clearance, not clearence
Fixed, thanks 🙂
I read the name plate on the door as 404
as in, not found.
Kinda meaningful after all that conversation about ellipses.
(I am also sure that 404 is not what it actually says.)
Nice catch! And I think 404 is actually what it says.
Its the number plate for the apartment. So yes 404 (error: not found) is most definitely what it says.
404, yes. But isn’t the number plate just below that?
The plate right below it actually says “No Soliciting” and has the danger signs for high electricity, radioactivity, and maybe something else.
But Ferrus, you say, there is no way even you could pick that out with zooming in. You’re right, I cheated. You can see that placard better here (or so I am betting).
Panel two: “A little more pressing than”
Panel three: “You can just say” (you have an extra just)
Fixed, thanks 😉
