Comic for Monday, October 31st
Last vote incentive for the series will hopefully go up tomorrow (today, depending on when you are reading this?).
Gotten a little wrapped up in a few other items, but will put up compilation as well if I get a chance (of all of the costumes).
Told you there was going to be one more time we heard the one side of a phone call coming up… 😐
Tyler is a lenient fellow. Or at least good at taking the bigger picture on these things, especially considering the day he’s had… We didn’t get to see the conclusion of what happened leaving the Avon building, but it’s something that will be somewhat backfilled in time 😛
I should note that “hacking” into a computer is something that will at some point be explained, and does not necessarily represent the gross negligence one may assume on Tyler’s part… 😉
Panel 6: “to have broke into” => “to have broken into”.
{sigh} I know he is the good guy but Peter is just really hard to develop a fondness for. Which means PastUtopia is doing a good job with the writing because I am still rooting for team Peter while thinking he is kind of a dick. I like Rovak as a character but I would not want him to win, I think, it is hard to tell with him.
I view it as a bit of a central theme that at this point in the story that Peter is struggling to adapt from theoretical plans to applying them via people. Peter’s struggle with not-being-a-dick is one that he needs to realize is a problem before he can start to address 😛 He is probably quite good at chess, but needs to grasp the difference between that an commanding an army of human pieces, and is probably not quite there yet (if ever) 😉
Peter sent him into Avon fairly blind. While Tyler made the decision to go knowing that, I do not think Tyler will let it slide again considering how close he came to serious danger (and his deputies getting hurt). On the bright side we might get the same answers as Tyler, though getting clear information out of Peter may be beyond Tyler even if Peter is answering his questions.
Still, a possible Peter / Tyler alliance is all I could ask for really.
Tyler was slightly overconfident there, frankly. He was likely working on the assumption that he would be able to root out more answers on his own than Peter was going to provide. Peter has been feeding him locations of things to investigate for awhile without providing much information or context, and usually it’s worked out better for him.
That said, I imagine he’s wise enough to by once burned twice shy on the idea of following Peter’s helpful hints.
I don’t think leaving something in a state where Peter can access information on it should ever be considered gross negligence. Since the other option is likely destroyed.
True, but simply brute forcing someones computer would be exceedingly difficult if they were not extremely careless. I was mostly just noting that it’s a card from Peter’s magician deck I intend to explain at some point later 😛
I’m guessing that Peter hasn’t yet warmed to the whole “Let’s be friends.” idea. 🙂
Just look at all those backgrounds–and they’re GOOD. 🙂
I was going to say something about seeing both of Tyler’s eyes again, but then I realized that his hair is wet from the rain, and is plastered to his head. Nice touch. 🙂
I am unsure if Peter knows what being friends is.
Yes, did great job on backgrounds. Just enough detail to set place and mood.
Rain! The bane of cool men everywhere.
.
It does appear that if you ever really become important to Peter, he will move heaven and earth to save you. (Did he overreact to Kallie’s kidnapping? Or did he send the correct size of force to deal with it?)
Peter basically through everything he had at it without really knowing what was going on. If that was an overreaction or not is up for debate. But it does seem somewhat different than the normal deliberation his plans have 😉
It does shift a little bit between panels 4 and 5, but I’m not sure whether that’s real or artistic.
It’s a good question… 😛
I sort of toned down how wet I was drawing things, partly due to crunch in drawing time, partly because it wasn’t raining directly on Tyler in this page.
It’s a bit of both though, his hair should be damp and hang heavier right now, and it’s a lot harder to hide the eye completely as the detail of the hair has gone up somewhat, but I’m sort of okay with that.
Peter was intrigued with what was inside of the printer and the speakers. And wanted to see how they work. He no longer has such fancy things at his house because it might explode.
I somehow suspect that Peter is a walking invalidation of warranties…
That last panel was perfect. I loved it. Honestly, if he showed up in my house, I would immediately worry about the now distinct possibility of explosions.
Also, I would be glad that it is not raining inside my house.
I think someone has accused him of being a walking chance-of-explosion-modifier. Insurance companies raise their premiums if you’ve had direct contact with Peter in the last few months.
2 things: in panel 6, it’s “quite possibly” and Happy Halloween.
Fixed! I actually fixed this a bit ago, but didn’t get a chance to reply here till now, sorry and many thanks!
I am still in denial that Halloween has passed since I need to put up one more voting incentive for it, and the compilation I promised 😛 but thanks!
Hahahahaha…. Now I’m just curious how much of Arron’s grey hair came from situations like this, or was Peter’s ability to inexplicably appear acquired with his rouge experience.
Still though good job Tyler, you have reached the other side of the board and are now eligible to become a more important piece. Nothing too fancy though, you’ve only just reached useful status. 😀
I imagine Arron would attribute a lot of the grey hair in recent times to Peter, but I suspect he already had most of it. Probably fair to blame Peter for a wrinkle or two though…
