The next comic is up. It went up pretty early today (by my standards). Try refreshing, maybe the page cached an older version? I should have caching off.
If your comment expressed the page as “Chapter/Intermission nn, mmm dd” where nn is the chapter or intermission number, mmm dd is the month and day listed in the archive page, it should be fairly easy to find the proper link on the archive page. Part of the problem that I can see is that getting the code bulletproof would mean parsing and regenerating the URL. Simply using grep to validate has a large number of problems.
Were you replying to my comment about ILA at the vending machine, part of the URL was copied and pasted into the comment. Since comments with URLs get filtered, only part of the URL was posted. Here is a full URL without the aich tee tee pee so hope it displays.
ILA was trying to put a “100” into the vending machine! Ashian (Camille’s brother) put in a token and got ILA some “Tasty Chips.” ILA left the 100 with a perplexed/confused/flabbergasted Ashian. LOL
In the discussion of the common for June 27th, 2022 there was some discussion of this. The short version is that it is a technically more demanding problem to solve than it appears on the surface.
This was an excellent comic providing info on Consul and other’s perceptions of events. The only complaint I have is not seeing ILA’s elimination of the last sniper by pushing a HVW vending machine token through his scope and exploding his head. LOL
In panel 4, I love that the Rogue Families are getting the blame for the hacked mall cameras.
In panel 5, the Consul’s reaction to Peter’s involvement is priceless.
In panel 7 the Consul speculates about making some corpses. They probably won’t need to do that. Ashvalt was extremely angry about the first kidnapping attempt and mentioned war had already started. I imagine we’ll be seeing some more bloody corpses.
In panel 8, Yoav (Tyler’s boss-had to look him up) speculates on crediting the MSB and/or the Ardunni family. Crediting both would be both technically correct and an excellent public relations win. Might give Ashvalt some extra incentive in providing some Rogue Family corpses.
In the last panel, Mium declares the shopping stuff as important. Can’t be much more important than scarves except perhaps tasty food! LOL
Yoav is only partially correct. There are injuries both inside and outside of the shopping place. The injuries outside just happened to have been fatal ones.
When I was in the military, we never referred to dead/killed/kia/fatalities as wounded or injured. Injured or wounded referred to people still alive although they still might change categories.
Jim, I’m going by accepted EMS practice. Militaries use terminology that is specifically geared towards them. My other annoyance is “electrocuted to death” which is really. “Death to death” there are no partial electrocutions. You can shock somebody but once they are electrocuted that encompasses them dying.
I expressed the jelly bean thought when ILA did her bank shot inside the mall. Unfortunately, ILA would be less likely to use tasty food as a projectile than she would be to use a token that will buy lots of tasty food. Many comics ago, ILA traded high denomination currency/coin for some tasty food. I think she was dealing with Arkady but my memory is fuzzy.
I knew someone had mentioned the jellybean/ token bit, which is what inspired me to bring it up again.
And I think you’re right, I believe it was Arkady who helped Ila with the vending machine around the time of the hospital assassination attempt against Tyler.
Jellybeans had been my first thought for ILA’s HVW projectiles. However, Past revealed that ILA had used vending machine tokens. It probably wouldn’t matter to ILA that she could get lots of jelly beans for a token. She can’t eat tokens and jelly beans are tasty food. Her motto is “A jelly bean in the hand is worth lots of tokens for ammo.” LOL
PS – I wasted an hour last night trying to find the ILA/Arkady/Vending machine scene cause it was rather funny. I think that also was when Magnolia “saw” ILA with her Eidos vision. Finally gave up and went to bed. sigh…
Found the vending machine scene in comic for comic-for-monday-april-30th-2018/. It’s strange that we both thought it was Arkady that got ILA the snack. It wasn’t Arkady. It was Ashian Canthi, Camilla’s brother. ILA gave Ashian a large bill for the snack. Maybe we were thinking of another time that Arkady provided tasty food.
It was several comics later that ILA stopped an Orish assassin from killing Tyler.
Agreed. I don’t think all the mangled bodies have been found, especially the snipers. We know ILA mangled the goon threatening Arkady and Amy while trying to get Artem. The other mangled body might be the spotter that had ILA saying “?! Indeed.” Apparently the goons that were mangled by ILA’s bank shot inside the mall have survived.
So an annoyed Mium will go around his limits, doing nothing and allowing Ila to mangle some annoying humans. Efficient, looks like a Peter Kepler Patented Solution. I think Ila will get her ice cream after all.
Gods the Counsel is enjoyable. She has such a good read on what involving Kepler actually means. The thing is in this case, it didn’t actually change anything net. Pretty sure the Counsel also knows why there is no footage.
Really this seems like the sort of ability that shows how the Counsel was able to rise in and retain power. Her understanding of positioning, of how people fit into where they are in society, and of how their power relates to it and to each other. It only took her two meetings with Peter to understand how he’s like the Families she’s been dealing with already.
I really want her to meet with Kyle, because I think that those two will just hit it off.
I guess the comic’s taking the week off?

Regarding the spam/spambots, can a rule be added to allow pastutopia.com links in comments? People often want to reference a past comic.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping it would be one-liner rule addition. Sigh …

I can’t help but think…. use that token to get jellybeans. Probably at least 30 for a token? 50?
Then use jellybeans as ammo. Much more cost effective, plus you’ll have some jellybeans to eat.

s/knows/has a very good idea/ perhaps?
2nd panel, top bubble:
from what we currently believe
and
of all things
Also:
either “there is report of” or “there are reports of”
Also, panel 4: if we didn’t want them to -> even if we didn’t want them to
This is a fun resolution to the mess 🙂
Also, personal –> personnel (panel 6)

Ha! Mium’s last line is an awesome punchline for the whole shopping trip incident.
And yes, Ila’s stuff is THE MOST IMPORTANT.
AND THE CONSUL IS GOLD!!!
I’m guessing Mium is busy curating some of the video surveillance so that when it is “retrieved” the Consul will get her wish???
Only two mangled corpses!?!?!! I’m guessing number two is the last “one left” foolhardy enough to put Ila in the crosshairs.
I hope Peter remembers to submit an expense report for this operation!!
Two that they’ve found. The ones outside seemed to be on rooftops. It might take awhile to find them all.

I’ve said it before, and will say it again. In many ways Mium is Peter’s child. A Kepler through and through.
His habits have also shown that no-killing rule really does keep the body count down. He only works around it when someone really annoys him.
His sister was annoyed she didn’t get her stuff, so getting it is a treat for her handling things.
Yes, Mium is like Peter’s child. He even imitates the way Peter stands with his hands in his pockets.
Here’s a thought. What if Mium and Peter both learned that from Query? Social skills is Query’s thing. Are his thing? Things?
This is definitely a comic. An amazing, awesome, inspiring, fulfilling comic.
Thanks, Past!

Then Kyle can introduce the Consul to his brother Arron. Love blossoms!!! And so begins the true integration of Central citizens into Malsa.
