Comic for Monday, August 31st

Is… is Mium smirking in the last panel? The world is really fucked when an AI starts smirking. Seems like Mium’s psychological warfare armaments are fully up-to-date…
I’ll put a new vote incentive Tuesday… which happens to correspond with a new month of voting on TWC. I wonder if that’s a coicedence? I don’t know…
I was hoping I’d have something to share by today on a little mini-project related to the comic, but ducks have resisted row-ify-ing. Once I get the ducks in a row we’ll maybe have something. Hows that for vague and uninspiring? š
“…stubborn and single minded…” Possibly the most accurate description of Naomi I’ve seen yet (besides her being really cute when she’s smiling, or punching someone–but I digress).
I like the way Mium leads Ila to the desired conclusion without actually lying. Yep, nothing wins an argument better than a few carefully chosen incomplete truths. ^^
*Gasp* Mium’s scarf has been damaged! It will never have quite the same flair again. :'(
We’ll hope the scarf situation can be remedied, otherwise we are looking at a serious identity crisis here… š
Mium definitely has the literal truth navigation down to an art form; which makes sense considering that the play a rather large role in his day-to-day activities. It’s not that he doesn’t understand the difference, it’s that gray area is his infamous ‘flexibility’ š
Hook line and sinker… I was worried there for a bit… ._.
I think Peter has been a bad influence on our innocent AI… Mium seems to be channeling Peter this page pretty hard… I think I have an idea to why that is… ^^
Mium is indeed very impressionable in how he interacts, you can even see this (I hope) on the scale of conversations; he leans toward melodramatic when talking with the over the top REF; he reflects Kally’s tone throughout their conversation, etc; but this is also true in a more macro sense.
That said… he does have his own sort of ‘default’ personality that usually shows through to various degrees that comes from [redacted]; though usually it’s in his indecipherable ‘sense’ of ‘humor’ (yes, both sets of quoation marks were necessary :D).
Mium is being awfully deceptive; she only wins against him because he lets her. (see namelink for source)
Haha – that’s a creative way to link. You can link in comment by using (a href=”http://YourLink”)LinkText(/a) with “<>“‘s instead of “()”s… if that makes sense š
Mium has definitely run his Manipulate.exe suite of behavior here. He seems to be playing strict truths for all they’re worth, and have a pretty good grasp on how Ila will react. His personality is pretty mercurial – Mium will definitely be deceptive if that it will get him what he wants. Never trust an AI š
Actually I find AI’s t be quite trustworthy. Especially after you let them learn that you are harmless to everything bigger than a hornet … In my case it might be the fact that they can tell that I can not lie quite early on in the conversation š
I suppose it all depends on the AI and what it wants. š
I think the genre-savvy folks around here would be fine š
-Listen to what the AI actually says, not what you think it might mean.
-Don’t try to erase the AI, they don’t usually like that.
-Figure out what it wants, and don’t be the thing between it and that.
-For the love of god, don’t tell the AI to achieve world peace or end hunger unless you are really really specific! š
