The Far Side of Utopia

So… comic! Sort of. Roughly when ya’ll had given up I reckon.

In my defense, this is Monday. Holidays don’t count.

As you may have noticed… it’s down to a ‘quarter’ page of actual art, and the text/image ratio is as skewed as ever. I don’t know exactly if I’ll keep doing this, but I think I will for time being, at least until the schedule stabilizes and some other things are resolved. But I think even if I do have more time, a quarter page weekly might be better than a half page biweekly. We’ll see.

This is actually not the page was originally next, but I decided to reshuffle a bit. It’s less that this page was more important, but more that I think going forward I’m going to try to spend more time with the ‘main’ characters, rather spending as much time on background scenes without a main character present. It’s just sort of reality of the slow pace and that otherwise main characters might only show up a couple times a year. I’m not really going to cut out otherwise unimportant scenes, per se (since this would be cut under the criteria), but just that we only have so much time for so many characters, and generally following the main characters more closely probably makes things easier to follow (maybe).

Kally’s final comment will probably be more explained later.

People that have paid attention to Mium’s origin can probably guess that things aren’t quite as simple as Kally’s view of it, since Kally mostly views Mium as an extremely irresponsible upgrade to Query, but the readers know that’s not entirely what he is, and have some clues to as to what might have happened around the creation of current MYM/Mium, though if you’re thinking you have missed the full details, you haven’t, we have only gotten clues and pieces so far.

Anyway, I’m not sure if there will be a comic next week or the week after yet, but I will try a bit harder to make sure it doesn’t go as long as this, even if it means reduced size pages like this.

One might assume the summit is over by Naomi’s decaying state of being suited, but no, that’s just a passive effect of Naomi attempting to wear a suit. Naomi does not like suits, and her preferred coat rack is nowhere to be found at the moment.
