I mean… technically Peter isn’t another branch… so that’s not a direct violation of what Arron just said last page… just… you know, a violation of common sense. And probably an entire book of laws.

Why would you not contact Peter? Speaking from their perspective: If he didn’t do it, you have an agent who is plausibly more on your side, and if he did, then at most you’ve given him the information that you know she is missing (and that you are concerned enough to contact him). I suppose it reduces the plausibility of following up with a “we know you have her” bluff, and I suppose Peter could conclude “they don’t think I have her” (although that would subsequently be followed up with “but what if they’re double-bluffing me there…”). In any case: not knowing whether or not it was Peter, you lose a marginal amount by telling her she’s missing if he did do it and gain quite a bit (in an ally) if he didn’t do it…
Well, certainly a logical take on it. If our IDS agent here ever ends up needing an advocate, I’m sure she’ll be in touch 😀
I think from a ‘man, we better make sure Kally is okay’ view, it’s definitely the right choice especially as they clearly think Peter would do something about it; from a keeping your job point of view, perhaps less so.
Eh. Contacting Peter seems perfectly reasonable to me. She knows he would never hurt kally and is probably right that he would save her. If only because that would be a waste of such a good hint if he didnt. (And he strikes me as the type who would love having her owe him one that he never intends to collect)
From the rescue Kally point of view, as long as you don’t think he did it, it’s definitely the most logical step; while Arron seems to having doubts about Peter in general, it seems Peter’s former coworkers at least think he wouldn’t do anything bad in regards to her.
I think there is an argument to be made that if it was Peter Kally isnt going to need rescuing. Peter is the one who would need to be saved from her.
Haha, that is true. Though they are sort of counterbalanced; Peter has plotting and intrigue down, Kally has talent and power – it’s why they used to be a good team – each of them is the natural weakness of the other 😉

going up to the previous posts, i think miko was introduced first, but only as a online chat bubbles. we see M.I.R. first.
as for the lackey… he kinda looks a bit like mium (EF-8) and ila (F-10). is this F-9?
And she has Gate with her. One of the hackers (probably Miko) must have gotten into her pet files for her to have brought her personal interface to the party. 🙂

I don’t think that’s Gate. Gate had brown hair&eyes and wore white like Mir. This looks more like another prototype with the white hair and it’s grey suit looks like what Ila wore previously.
Indeed Mir’s current lacky has different coloration then we last saw Gate at very least.
I can only imagine that Mir is not typically thrilled to have people playing in her playground at the best of times. She’s not really had the best of times recently, has she? 😐
Somehow, I get the impression that whatever Dr. Mir finds “fascinating” means bad news for our protagonists. I’m guessing that Dr. Mir recognizes Miko from somewhere. Either that, or she’s just surprised that the two most expensive (i.e., ‘best’) hackers they hired were both women.
BTW: I noticed that while Dr. Mir is on your Cast page, Miko is not. Was the omission intentional?
I can only imagine it’s generally a point to avoid being considered fascinating by her, but I’m just speculating on that… 😉
As for the cast page; not really. Miko wasn’t added originally as I typically don’t add characters till they were ‘properly’ introduced (and I’m fairly sure Mir showed before Miko, but am not really sure tbh).
The real answer is the cast page is very behind. I need to update it. It’s been on the to-do list for an unfortunate amount of time, but it requires some thought/effort as I need a good picture recent of them (as the art style migrates so much that it can be hard to recognize old pictures…).
