First of all; apologies for all the malware spam. If you didn’t see my comment previously, the site was hacked. Best I can tell the only thing the did was make spam posts in Korean will malware links. It should go without saying, but I don’t post stuff in Korean, nor do I advertise random malware. I took some precautions after last time, but this seems to be a different beast – the last time it was more of a targeted thing, in this case it seems like a general vulnerability in WordPress was letting them post stuff with my account due to an out of date security version. As for why WordPress version (what the site is built on) was out of date, well, that’s a bit more complicated but not really relevant.
Now, we might remember that I took a day off to make a buffer, and here we are resuming without a buffer, and for that I apologize, but it’s not quite as bad as it looks. I did draw this page as one page, but I realized that it was going to be pretty late as the all the “special effects” (smoke, atter monsters, glowy stuff, etc) was going to take awhile (just because I can’t do it well doesn’t mean I can do it quickly 😀 ) in the various post drawing stages, so I broke it into two so that I could post at a reasonable time. So… I’m behind, but not that behind. The buffer page should go up tomorrow (pretty sure I can commit to that). I just wanted to prioritize the post being on time(ish) even if that’s over all less efficient.
On the bright side, I’m taking some time off next week for the first time in awhile, so I will spend some of that time on drawing stuff.
Can’t quite make out Atter’s first words (maybe “SINNERS”?), but the others look like “KILL”, “RIP”, “TEAR” in whatever language -( )- is… Already knew Atter was an unstable monster, but now he’s a mad, unstable monster. Fun…
My guess was “Summers” but you might be right, I cannot actually read it either, I was just guessing based on number of letters and context.
Atter is definitely barking mad though. His rant when confronting Peter and Mium pretty much confirmed that. I’m just trying to understand what Sophie was hoping to accomplish with turning Atter loose on the world.
Actually, “Summers” makes a lot more sense. I already thought the letter that’s probably “U” was a bit of a stretch as an “I”, and it makes sense that Atter would be mad at Kally for obliterating his form.
1001 Reason To Adore Ila, Number…..what number are we on, anyway?
Light reading kind of manual, eh?
Dragon based justice, take two…
Dragon: the most popular career, especially when it comes to shooting stuff.
Dreamworks isn’t going to sue, are they? 🙂
This page is beautiful, definitely worth the wait!
Oh dear, dare I guess that Kally is going to turn UP the power?
Also Ila, we all want a Bahamut. Few of us ever get one.
Some kids want a dog, some kids want a pony, some kids want a dragon.
I get the feeling that “Summon Dragon” is less of a spell and more that Kally was a kid that wanted a dragon and just sort of warped her construct power to make it come true. More and more I get the feeling that “Fluffy” is real because Kally treats Fluffy as real.
Her imaginary friend can just level a city block with a single attack.
That’s some great qualifications for an imaginary friend.
I kinda’ feel like I settled now…
Either up the power or else go looking for the anchor, to retarget that power.
Either could be nasty.
Meanwhile, there’s the Kor’s world nasty, no longer distracted.
That looks like a disturbingly large number of disturbingly intact red construct pieces. I expect if Sophie is responsible for that, she at least *felt* that hit.
But did she or Atter know what hit Atter? Can these remains be dealt with in some manner before Atter reforms so that a reformation won’t happen? Can Sophie dismiss Atter and resummon like Kally dismisses Fluffy and resummons? How much of the collateral damage Fluffy caused will wind up in Kally’s mailbox in the form of a bill? Will the Kor’s Wolrd soldier take more note of Fluffy’s power or the conflict between the red constructs?
These and many other questions probably won’t be answered next time on The Far Side of Utopia, but stay tuned and some of them may be eventually. Any predictions what the answers might be? What other, more important questions did I miss?
Will Ila get her own dragon? I feel that’s an important question.
Illa, naturally, feels it’s the MOST important question. . . .
I get the feeling that Ila is basically an innate mage, which would mean her learning new magic (the fine art of Dragon Summoning) is probably impossible. Though I under if Mium couldn’t “reprogram” her spells if he really wanted to. Ila might not want a Dragon that bad though…
Either way, it probably wouldn’t be as powerful as Fluffy, as Fluffy seems to be a special overpowered case.
I’m guessing reprogramming would have to basically scrap & start over. Ila’s overpoweredness for her spells are from precision repetition. I suspect a Fluffy-class dragon is just a few too many moving parts and different calculations for her limitations.
