There is a better way. Here’s one. A PHP routine loads the page and parses the “Comic for” line watching for a date change. If no change, it reloads the page in a minute. If the date changes, jump to a page that has “Ride of the Valkeries” audio such as http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GGU1P6lBW6Q
It’s going to be another off week. I hate to do that and it’s been a long time since two weeks were missed, so I’ll try to keep a good stretch once it’s back. I sort of forgot this was a long weekend and ended up not having time to finish it. I’ll be back with a regular update next week (probably for real this time).
I should stop clicking on refresh every 5 minutes, then?!
JK!
I hope you have enjoyed the long weekend and we will hope the extra time gives Peter a good chance to accomplish his objective(s), while not letting Kally get into *too* much trouble!
Oops! I missed a question. There are three questions. Kally’s “…Wait, what’s that?” is number three. Peter may not have heard here as he was exiting the security room.
Maybe Fluffy will get to taste some goons in black suits!
Uh-oh. Splitting the party, that is a dangerous decision, Peter.
It is interesting to me that Peter of all people is opting to physically get closer to see what it is. I feel like there is a different dynamic with Peter and Kally than Peter has with Naomi or Mium, where I feel like he would have had them take point.
Well, maybe not with Naomi. Mium has disparaged her sneaking ability before. I get the feeling she might be alright at literal stealth, but not great at infiltrating.
Though Peter’s willingness to take point here makes me circle back to thinking that he might be able to use Ellipses, as both Arron and Tom seemed to be able to sneak into a building without much trouble.
It has been noted in other comments that each user of Ellipses seems to use it slightly different. Tom seems like he becomes extremely hard to notice at all, while Arron seems like he becomes someone else that “belongs” there by other people’s perception.
With Peter, it is often referred to that Kally loses track of him and he has shown the ability to use what seems to be a special autocaster to make realistic duplicates of himself (and the Consul) though that might not actually be Ellipses itself, and just a property of the autocaster.
@Amaranth: From my point of view, Peter has been trying to protect Kally from the beginning–first by pushing her away, treating her like an adversary so that the authorities would leave her alone. When that failed and she was kidnapped, he started treating her differently, more like their relationship during The Minus Years.
Since Peter seems pretty neurodivergent socially and emotionally, his actions are little strange, but there’s no doubt he treats her differently than he does Naomi, Mium, or Miko–or anyone else, for that matter.
Strange things are going on and Peter doesn’t know what!!! Looks like the fecal matter is going to hit the rotating air circulation device! Peter still hasn’t dropped off any of the stuff he brought. Is Peter going to run into Rovak, Kor’s world or David?
So, um, would an accent that pronounces the ‘r’ in wash but not the ‘r’ in mother be rhotic or non-rhotic? Assume for the purposes of the exercise that it spreads the love on its somewhat novel approach to pronunciation moderately freely in both regards.
Well I said I discovered these categories, not that I’d become expert in them. However my guess is that non-rhotic is the class that would cover the case you describe.
Even to say I discovered them is misleading. I learned of their existence.
Well, I’m still amused knowing that there’s an accent out there that pronounces window with an ‘r’ and door without one. Also, to be fair, if one of us was supposed to know the answer to that, it’s probably me, because I knew about the question of “what is with this accent?” from a young age, as some of my grandparents were among those who had it.

Hey Folks-
I hate to do this after a cliffhanger of sorts, but I am going to have to skip this week. I’ll be back with a regular update next week.
Past, Okay, take care of real life. Hope it it just a time shortage and things are well with health and life.

It’s time to start maniacally punching the refresh button.
Now we have two questions. Who is meddling? Who will show up to boom the building?
But Kally has used up her question and can’t ask….
Oops! I missed a question. There are three questions. Kally’s “…Wait, what’s that?” is number three. Peter may not have heard here as he was exiting the security room.

The logic here is that Peter can use Ellipsis, while Kally cannot. The unpersoned security room wil likely remain so.
I forgot about the double reply bug. This should have been a reply to Amaranth.

Going out on a limb… the guy from Eugenus? Whatever his name was. E something Farash or somesuch.
Woohoo! Comic! Life is good.
Panel 7. Surpressed? Supressed maybe? Regardless, it led me to the discovery of rhotic and non-rhotic accents.
