This is technically a very similar magic to Ila’s giant green hand spell, but slightly more complicated, and also probably the type of magic Kally is most specialized for.
Some people asked why I use the “magic ring” effects; there are few reasons – the biggest being is the array of what magic can do is so large I wanted some unifying element to it; while it’s true that not all magic uses them (Naomi for example) it’s provides a nice consistent framework as well as bit of a currency of complication and indicator of effect. In comic they represent the calculations for the Eidos transcription.
I’m doing my best with the art, but let me tell you, when the writer told there was a semi-transparent glowing dragon coming up, the artist tried to go on strike. We’ve wrangled the artist back to his job, but we’ve strayed off the ranch here 😉

Kally’s much cuter when she’s not glowering about (or at) Peter. Her battle face is a big improvement over the glower. 🙂
Kally’s attack shows more creativity than Ila’s, and, dare I say it, a sense of humor?
I see she also deprived it of its hand. Looks like some contractor on Kor’s world cut some corners. ^^ It wasn’t that long ago that you agonized over drawing hands, and now you’re doing robot hands.
I’m also happy to say that couldn’t find a single typo in the dialog this time. ;D
Legend has it once Kally smiled, but it’s unconfirmed.
I still agonize over drawing hands 😛 There has been some improvement on them I guess, but they are still silly arm-ending-octopuses in my book.
Kally’s version is definitely more advanced and creative; not to mention cooler. Unfortunately I think dragons are even harder than hands to draw 😛
I’m see you’ve caught onto my new no-typo strategy. I think it has potential. I just have to be careful with those sound effects now 😉
